Do You Still Remember?

The work takes my unfinished farewell to my grandmother as the starting point, and constructs a perceptual space about vague and heavy memories. In this year, I have gradually changed from a person who doesn't like taking pictures to a person who is keen on recording life and self-state. This change prompted me to look back at the past and pay attention to those daily moments that were once ignored but extremely precious in memory - they become blurred with the passage of time, but they have never really left.

The work is presented through the interweaving of images, texts and sounds, and uses a narrative image structure to tell how I was triggered to recall the fragments of my time with my grandmother in a certain moment or scene in my daily life. These memories are vague but profound, quietly evoking emotional tremors, bringing happiness, but also accompanied by loss and pain. It is this tension of "trying to grasp but becoming more and more blurred" that makes me more aware of the flow and preciousness of memory.

I am not trying to restore a specific memory, but I hope to evoke the viewer's reflection on their own memory through this work - those daily lives that we thought would always exist are actually disappearing quietly. I hope this narrative about love, absence and time can be a gaze at the present and a gentle reminder: cherish the present, record life, and bravely speak out your love. Those seemingly insignificant details may constitute the most important part of our lives.

The Apple Mystery

In a circular building, five people surround an apple on a dais, each holding a different attitude and viewpoint. One of them has a huge eye, looking down on the scene below. The environmentalist's face is full of enthusiasm, hoping that the apples will be mass-produced to contribute to the environment as a way of planting more trees. The capitalist wants everyone to take money or body parts in exchange for himself, while he receives a constant stream of profits. Safety experts urge people not to eat apples and want them to be better controlled to prevent people from becoming addicted to them and becoming obese. Ethical philosophers see the addictive nature of the apple's appearance and believe that apples need to be better controlled and controlled in order to keep people healthy and in a stable mental state. For the political advisor, the apple is a political subject and he wants to control and manage the distribution and benefits of apples through political means.

Shelter Hope

The aim of this design project is to create a fresh conceptualization for a shelter for homeless children, encompassing relocations, new building designs, floor plans, and monthly activity scheduling. While delving into the realm of orphaned children, another vulnerable group emerged - homeless children, who confront the challenges of being without a home, lacking stable care, and basic life necessities.
Through this design venture, the project endeavors to provide an entirely new environment for the homeless children's shelter, offering them stable care and comprehensive support. The objective is to craft a nurturing, secure, and constructive space that provides homeless children with opportunities for growth, learning, and development, aiding them in rebuilding their self-confidence.

Escape Route

The Escape Route project aims to provide a safe and feasible escape path for Ukrainian refugees, assisting them in fleeing Mariupol and reaching Warsaw, Poland, safely. Considering the devastation caused by Russian missiles, artillery, and war, I have designed a vehicle to withstand these extreme environments. The purpose of this project is to help Ukrainian refugees alleviate the suffering they endure during the conflict, by offering a secure and viable escape solution and easing the hardships they face in times of war. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness about the plight of war and encourage people to contemplate ways to minimize the harm and destruction inflicted upon civilians. It calls for reflection on the hardships imposed by war.

The inspiration for this project arises from the situation in Mariupol during the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Mariupol is one of Ukraine's crucial port cities; however, since the outbreak of the conflict, it has suffered immense destruction. The destructive power of Russian missiles, artillery, and warfare has posed significant threats and challenges for the people. In this context, the Escape Route project aims to provide a safe and feasible escape route for Ukrainian refugees, helping them escape Mariupol and safely reach Warsaw, Poland. To address these extreme environments, I have created a vehicle to ensure Ukrainian refugees can find a glimmer of hope amidst the war and flee to Warsaw, Poland.

Inland Migration Plan

Irresponsible disposal of nuclear waste into the oceans has resulted in the contamination of the entire marine ecosystem. As the apex species in the Earth's food chain, humans inevitably face the repercussions of this issue. With the global water cycle in motion, these nuclear waste materials continually return to our surroundings, becoming an integral part of the Earth's environment, one link in the chain at a time. Eventually, to escape the scourge of ocean pollution, humanity embarks on a large-scale migration towards inland regions. Urban residents, like migratory birds, begin to move, not in search of food but in search of a "clean" living environment. The streets and alleys echo with calls for the "Inland Migration Plan," becoming a new social trend. I aim to use this project to raise awareness about responsible nuclear energy management and vigilance in energy consumption.
On August 24, 2023, Japan began discharging treated water from nuclear power plants into the ocean. However, this contaminated nuclear wastewater did not meet the standards suitable for ocean discharge and was planned to be released over a period of 30 years. While I felt sorrow for the oceans and marine life, I also harbored deep concerns about the future of humanity.

Shield Initiative

The primary aim of this project is to provide more effective life protection for individuals with limited mobility during earthquakes. In recent years, natural disasters have been frequent worldwide, and the occurrences of earthquakes have been progressively increasing. In my hometown, we often experience the aftershocks of earthquakes. However, people's awareness of aftershocks is notably weak, which deeply concerns me: What if one day it's not just an aftershock, but a major earthquake? Have we prepared adequately?
An effective earthquake response plan must comprehensively consider the unique needs of everyone, particularly the mobility-impaired population. Hence, the objective of this project is to ensure that individuals with limited mobility can swiftly find suitable safe havens during times of crisis. Through this project, I aspire to raise awareness and foster understanding about the challenges faced by those with limited mobility during earthquakes, working together to create a safer society.
